WHO WE ARE

DTES Response was created to coordinate efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Groups in the DTES are uniting more than ever to ensure this unprecedented threat does not disproportionately affect the most vulnerable in our communities.

WHAT WE'RE DOING

We continue to mobilize resources and coordinate operations to immediately respond to the multiple crises in the neighbourhood. There are 15,000 people at risk in the DTES which include 3,000+ who are unhoused and 4,700 at high risk in privately run SRO’s. We help organize and fundraise for frontline groups who serve the community.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Make a Monetary Donation. Donations go to the groups on the frontlines to provide food, hygiene items, PPE, peer worker support and other needs that emerge. Donations also go towards coordinated projects that benefit multiple groups and those they serve. All donations are being received by Network of Inner City Community Services Society (NICCSS) and will receive a charitable tax receipt. If you prefer to send a cheque, make payable to: Network of Inner City Community Services, note "DTES Response" in the memo, send mail c/o 310-183 East Georgia, St. Vancouver, BC V6A 0E5.

#WeLookOutForEachOther

DTES Response would like to acknowledge that the land on which we operate on is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, which include the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations (colonially known as Vancouver, Canada).

The DTES Response Fund recipients:
